How do you prepare for an unpredictable health event?
Per MetLife, some families can spend as much as $14,444 or more during a time of critical illness and recovery.
“But I have good medical coverage and my company provides disability benefits. Is there more I could do to protect myself?”
Yes, through MetLife’s Critical Illness insurance plan.
Critical Illness coverage is an additional insurance that provides a lump sum payment directly to you and you decide how to spend the funds. News Corp offers two levels of coverage and you can cover yourself or your whole family.
| Eligible Individual | Initial Benefit |
| Employee | $15,000 or $30,000 |
| Spouse | 50% of the employee’s Initial Benefit |
| Dependent Child(ren) | 50% of the employee’s Initial Benefit |
Payments for the coverage are made through convenient payroll deductions, so you will never have to worry about sending a check in or having a lapse in coverage. Employees can enroll in Critical Illness coverage during open enrollment, as a new hire or if they have a qualifying event.
