Preventative Care: Better Safe Than Sorry
Sometimes it’s hard to squeeze in time to visit the doctor, but preventative visits can be critical to a happy and healthy life.
Our Aetna plans recommend annual mammograms for women ages 40 and older, and women younger than 40 who may be considered high risk. Aetna has also recently updated their clinical policy to consider 3D mammograms as a medically acceptable alternative to the traditional, standard 2D mammogram.
For more information on mammograms, you can log onto Aetna’s website, www.aetna.com.
As always, talk with your physician to determine if a 3D mammogram is the right test for you.
