The benefit choices you make now are not cast in stone. You can make changes at each annual enrolment or whenever you experience a change in your personal circumstances – known as a life event. Eligible life events include:

• Marriage or completion of one year in a common-law relationship
• Divorce or legal separation
• Birth or adoption of a child
• Death of your spouse or a dependent child
• Loss of your spouse’s benefits coverage
• Dependent child no longer qualifying for coverage due to age, leaving post-secondary education or marriage

To make a change, you must notify Sun Life within 31 days of experiencing a life event.  If you have difficulty accessing the enrolment system, call Sun Life at 1-866-896-6976.
