Capital One has announced a data security incident involving applications for its credit card products and some of its current customers. This security incident affected over 100 million individuals in the US. Information was accessed from consumers and small businesses who applied for one of the bank’s credit card products from 2005 through early 2019. About 140,000 Social Security numbers and around 80,000 linked bank account numbers were also taken from credit card customers.
