Coordination of Benefits
Coordination of Benefits (COB) means you can submit claims under our Medical and Dental plans and your spouse’s plan to receive up to 100% reimbursement of eligible expenses. For example, if your spouse’s plan covers 80% of an eligible expense, you can claim the remaining 20% under our Basic plan and not be out-of-pocket one cent. So, make sure you take full advantage of any other coverage available to you. And keep in mind that you can only be reimbursed up to 100% of your eligible expenses so it likely doesn’t make sense to have duplicate coverage.
