HealthEquity Debit Card Update – FSA/Commuter
As Health Equity transitions to a new card processing vendor (Fiserv), they will begin offering the new HealthEquity® Visa® Card for FSA and Commuter in October 2023. Please see below:
With this upgraded card, members will enjoy new features and more flexibility to utilize their benefits. Best of all, multiple benefit accounts can be stacked on the same card. You will spend smarter with the new HealthEquity® Visa® Card and will enjoy a benefits experience that is:
- Convenient. No more shuffling through wallets for the right card. When you have multiple consumer-directed benefit accounts, the stacked HealthEquity® Visa® Card manages them all in one ― automatically drawing the right funds from the right account in the right order.
- Secure. The stacked HealthEquity® Visa® Card is chipped and contactless, allowing you to make the most of their benefits while also enjoying peace of mind and maximum account security.
- Flexible. You can simply tap or insert the card for secure mobile payments, and HealthEquity takes care of the rest: no stress, no guesswork. Digital wallet functionality will also be available beginning February 2024.
What this means for you:
- Members enrolled in FSA and Commuter will receive a new, stacked HealthEquity® Visa® Card starting October 17, 2023. This will replace existing Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and Commuter cards.
- Members enrolled in just an FSA or just a Commuter benefit will continue using their current HealthEquity card. The card will be replaced with the new, HealthEquity® Visa® Card in the event it is lost, stolen, damaged, or expires.
- During the change in card processors from October 4 – 10, members may not see updated account balances reflected in their HealthEquity account. Members will continue to be able to use their HealthEquity debit card and card transactions will be authorized.
