Compassionate Leave at News Corp
At News Corp we understand the external pressures employees may have in taking care of ailing loved ones. All companies must adhere to the rules around providing job protection under the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA). However at News Corp we go the extra distance in offering a paid form of FMLA when approved and taken for the care of others. This is our compassionate care policy. Details on the policy can be found in our formal employee handbook on our intranet (this link will only work if you are a News Corp employee on the appropriate server). However at a high level – this policy will continue your salary for up to the full 12 weeks of an approved FMLA.
To apply for compassionate leave – have a conversation with your manager, and call:
The Benefits Center:
Phone: 1-800-220-1716
If for some reason after speaking with a representative at the Absence Management Center and/or The Benefits Center, you still have questions, please feel free to contact the News Corp Benefits Group at: employeebenefits@newscorp.com
In addition to our paid compassionate leave policy – we also offer additional adult care resources through our Bright Horizon’s program and Wellthy, as well as programs to help you maintain emotional balance. So be sure to check those out and best understand all of the resources available to you.
